Eugene C. Fields
Eugene C. “Cue” Fields, 93, of Washington, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 11, 2023, with his family at his side. He was born July 8, 1930, in West Middletown, a son of the late Elliot and Thelma Kelly Fields.
Mr. Fields was employed by the City of Washington for 38 years, retiring as the street department supervisor.
He enjoyed shooting pool, playing the lottery, and watching sports and studio wrestling on television. Most of all, Mr. Fields enjoyed the time he spent with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
His wife, Girthalee L. Fields, passed away June 29, 2021.
Surviving are a daughter, Lisa A. Fields of Hermitage; two brothers, Joseph L. (Sandra) Fields of Washington, and Paul F. Fields of Washington; a sister, Stella M. Fields of Washington; a granddaughter, LiTasha L. Lacks and; three great-grandsons, Tyvell Richardson, Orion Gamble and LeRoyce Coleman. A host of nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great- nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Fields was preceded in death by five brothers, Lowell Beatty, Raymond Beatty, William Fields, Robert Fields and Troy Fields; and by a sister, Anna Spencer.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 17, in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenue, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, owner / supervisor, S. Timothy Warco II, director, Holly Renay Warco, director, Park N. Crosier, director. Additional visitation will be held in the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., the hour of a funeral service, Tuesday, July 18. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
