Raymond W. Holmes
Raymond W. Holmes, 70, of Eighty Four, died Wednesday, July 5, 2023, in Washington Hospital.
He was born August 10, 1952, in Canonsburg, a son of Robert and Martha Simpson Holmes.
Raymond was a member of the Abundant Life Baptist Church, in Washington.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Ray was a member of the Masonic Lodge, 761, the American Legion, the Jugo Club, and was very active for many years with the Boy Scouts of America.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a master scheduler for Superior Valve in Washington.
On August 23, 1980, he married his loving wife, Marsha Lynn Holmes, who survives.
Also surviving are his sons, Andrew (Lauren) Holmes of Belleview, Guy (Christine) Holmes of Weirton, W.Va.; daughter, Sarah (Patrick) Gustine of Finleyville; sister, Denise (Gary) Stollar; six grandchildren, Atticus, Elodie, Mason, Turner, Elsie and Madeline; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert E. Holmes, Jr., and Duane Holmes; and his sister, Linda Grabiak.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 9, in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000, where additional visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., the time of services, Monday, July 10. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
