An Eighty Four woman was arraigned Wednesday on charges filed by two police departments in connection with thefts.

Jennifer Jo Nelson, 42, of 83 Pigeon Creek Road, was charged by South Strabane Township police with theft of leased property after she failed to return a 2013 Kia Soul that she leased last month from Enterprise, Murtland Avenue.

Her contract expired July 19 and told an Enterprise employee July 22 that she would return the vehicle. When she failed to return it, police served a search warrant at her home Aug. 1. The vehicle was retrieved and towed back to Enterprise.

Southwest Regional police charged Nelson along with Christopher Robert Nelson, 35, also of 83 Pigeon Creek Road, with theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy for allegedly stealing a purse owned by Darlene Skerbetz of Bentleyville. The purse-snatching happened Aug. 8 at Giant Eagle in Bentleyville, police said.

She was arraigned on the charges and placed in Washington County Jail on $20,000 bond. Robert Nelson will be arraigned at a later date.
