READING (AP) – A bizarre find brought out the bomb squad in an eastern Pennsylvania community.

The Reading Police Bomb Squad was called to Tilden Township to investigate a suspicious cylindrical object that a resident found in his driveway Tuesday along with literature promoting a white supremacist group.

Police Chief William J. McEllroy III said the object turned out to be a foil container of kitty litter that apparently was used to prevent the leaflet from blowing away.

The clear bags with leaflets and similar kitty-litter weights were distributed to about a dozen residences. The literature stated it was from the Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.

McEllroy said no crime was committed because there were no threats in the literature and the fliers were distributed in driveways, not mailboxes.
