Charged in assault: Branden Lee Carey, 28, of 101 Main St., Bentleyville, was arrested early Thursday by state police on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment for allegedly putting a 9mm handgun to the head of Ronald Richard Wright during an incident at Carey’s home. Wright, of Coal Center, went to Carey’s home to play video games, state police said. Carey became enraged when he thought someone stole $100 and told Wright to strip down, police said. When Wright refused, Carey allegedly held a gun to his head. Carey was arraigned before District Judge Curtis Thompson and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.

Hit and run: Shirley Koonse told Canonsburg police her truck was hit Thursday by another vehicle outside of her daughter’s house on Franklin Avenue.

School fight: A juvenile allegation will be filed by Chartiers police following a fight Wednesday at the Washington Area Career and Technology Center. According to the police report, a 16-year-old student injured a 17-year-old student during a fight, giving the victim a black eye and sending him to Washington Hospital to receive a concussion check.

Mischief charge: Robert S. Michelucci, 38, of 754 Phillis Road, Bulger, was charged last week by McDonald police with criminal mischief for allegedly taking a cellphone owned by Elizabeth Zupcic and throwing it against the wall of her apartment Aug. 24. The phone was valued at $650. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Valarie Costanzo.
