Man held for trial in Pa. car wash slaying

JOHNSTOWN (AP) – A man has been ordered to stand trial in the fatal stabbing of his girlfriend at a western Pennsylvania car wash.

WJAC-TV said 21-year-old Demetrius Gibson of Johnstown was taken back to the Cambria County Prison after his preliminary hearing Tuesday.

Gibson’s live-in girlfriend, 21-year-old Elizabeth Ann Miller, was stabbed at a car wash in Moxham on Aug. 6 and died at a hospital during emergency surgery. A knife believed to be the murder weapon was recovered from the scene.

Defense attorney Thomas Dickey said his client may not have actually killed Miller or if he did, it wasn’t intentional.

Gibson is charged with criminal homicide and drug charges. Police said nearly 300 bags of heroin were found inside his abandoned SUV shortly after the stabbing.
