Loved life and enjoyed hairdressing
Anastasia M. Godfrey, 44, of Cecil Township, passed away Friday, September 6, 2013, in the Center for Compassionate Care, Mt. Lebanon, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 27, 1968, in Washington, a daughter of Anna Louise O’Hare Marinelli of Muse and the late Mario “Butch” Marinelli, who died Sunday, March 3, 2004.
Mrs. Godfrey lived her life in Cecil and Muse, where she was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church and its Altar Society.
She was a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, attended the Wilma Boyd School and had been employed as a mortgage coordinator at NVB Mortgage in Southpointe.
Mrs. Godfrey loved life and enjoyed hairdressing for her family and friends. She was an avid scrapbooker and was in the process of putting together a book for her son at the time of her death.
On July 22, 1995, she married Gerald D. Godfrey, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to her husband and mother, are her beloved son, Ian G. Godfrey, at home; brother Mario J. (Lori) Marinelli of Pleasant Hills; sister Belinda A. Marinelli (fiance George Tayvinsky) of Champion; in-laws, Richard l. and Gloria E. Godfrey of Cecil; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday, September 10. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Rosary Church, Muse, with the Rev. George T. DeVille as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Church Cemetery, Cecil.
