Mapletown defense throttles Vincentian

Adam Hein rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown, and Mapletown’s defense had five takeaways, as the Maples blanked visiting Vincentian Academy 12-0 in a non-conference game.

Hein scored on a seven-yard run in the second quarter, and Dereck Riggleman returned a punt 71 yards for a score midway through the third quarter, as the Maples evened their record at 1-1. Hein and Riggleman each had an interception.

Mapletown failed to complete a pass and finished with only 84 yards total offense, but Vincentian (0-2) was held to 65 total yards, including minus-2 passing.
