Donald Roy Anderson, 67, of Carnegie, formerly of West Alexander, died October 28, 2013, in UPMC-Mercy hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born September 2, 1946, in Washington, a son of the late Donald Lloyd Anderson and Helen Anderson Bonar of West Alexander.

Mr. Anderson was a 1964 graduate of McGuffey High School. He attended Vale Tech in Blairsville, and later Bailey Tech in St. Louis, Mo.

In the late 1960s, he played semi-professional football for the Washington Generals.

Mr. Anderson worked for Sears, Roebuck and Co. in Pittsburgh for 20 years, in the appliance and automotive sections. He and his wife were the owners and operators of Computer Essentials.

He enjoyed traveling, fishing in Yellowstone River and downhill skiing. Mr. Anderson loved his family, friends and his dogs.

On April 27, 1985, he married Rebecca Jane Roupe, who survives.

Also surviving are three brothers, Robert (Joyce) Anderson of Washington, Charles (Cindy) Anderson of Claysville and James (Anna) Anderson of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his father, is his stepfather, Chester Bonar.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Hummell and Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, funeral director, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, November 1. Interment will follow in Claysville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to CORE, 204 Sigma Drive. Pittsburgh, PA 15238.
