After reading the editorial in Friday’s edition, “Recycling plant? Great, but NIMBY,” I was quite concerned that the author of this editorial had not done enough homework before making the statement that this plant is being proposed for a “sparsely populated area.”

I live adjacent to this facility and there are several hundred other residences within a two-mile radius in the towns of Bulger, Candor, Cherry Valley and Midway, not to mention the Fort Cherry School District campus, which is within five miles of this facility. I agree that this is a good idea, but not in the backyards of all of these residential homes and young children attending the Fort Cherry schools.

I am concerned that this paper would endorse such a proposal without researching the logistics first.
