CARNEGIE – California senior quarterback Austin Hunter ran for three scores and passed for 102 yards as the Trojans (4-4, 4-4) defeated Carlynton 26-13 Friday night in a Black Hills Conference matchup.

The win keeps California in the playoff hunt and sets up an important game next Friday night at home against Brentwood.

Hunter rushed for 136 yards on 20 carries and scored on runs of 1, 2 and 5 yards.

Carlynton took a 7-0 lead with 4 seconds remaining in the first quarter on a 37-yard run by Freddie McKissick before the Trojans scored 19 unanswered points.

California’s Nate Harris had two interceptions, and Carlynton did not score again until Tyler Bly caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from Kevin Schuster with 3:51 left in the fourth quarter.
