DORMONT – Patrick Frey scored on a 6-yard touchdown run with 1:35 remaining in the fourth quarter, then had a critical sack in the closing seconds as McGuffey defeated Keystone Oaks, 41-40, in a back-and-forth Century Conference game.

Frey’s touchdown came less than two minutes after John Beveridge’s second touchdown of the fourth quarter, a 12-yard pass from Kobe Phillippi had put Keystone Oaks (1-6, 1-7) ahead, 40-35, erasing a 35-26 deficit.

Frey rushed for 177 yards on 17 carries and scored twice, adding a pair of sacks for McGuffey (3-4, 4-4), which also got 149 yards rushing and three touchdowns from James Duchi.

Phillipi completed 16 of 21 passes for 196 yards and three touchdowns.

After a scorleess first quarter, McGuffey led 21-20 at halftime and 29-20 after three quarters.
