Calvary Temple member was ARC aide
Gail Virginia Saffel, 69, of Washington, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013, in Canonsburg General Hospital.
She was born April 4, 1944, in Washington, and was raised by Bill and Nettie Varner.
Ms. Saffel worked at ARC as an aide for several years and previously worked at Humbert Lane as a nurse’s aide.
She enjoyed her grandchildren and doing puzzles.
Ms. Saffel was a member of Calvary Temple.
Surviving are three daughters, Lisa (Jay) Baumgardner, Tammy (Joe) Saffel and Glenna Janoski, all of Washington; two sisters, Debbi Saffel of Washington and Donna Kurpil of West Virginia; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and longtime companion Joe Grim.
Deceased are a daughter, Sara Ann Saffel; a sister, Faye Brown; a brother, Larry Varner; and a great-grandchild.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 12. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
