The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a winter weather advisory in effect until Wednesday afternoon. This advisory includes southwest and central Pennsylvania, the northern panhandle of West Virginia, and eastern Ohio.

Light snow has already developed in the area, and can accumulate 3 to 7 inches. Also, due to transitions of snow, rain, and sleet through Tuesday night, layers of ice are expected on roads and bridges.

Most of the snow will occur Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Light snow and sleet will continue through the week.

Hazardous travel conditions are expected; use caution while driving.
