CANONSBURG – ANSYS Inc. announced third-quarter GAAP earnings Thursday of $62.4 million, or 66 cents per share on revenue of $212.7 million.
The Southpointe-based engineering simulation software company said the results for the quarter ended Sept. 30 compared with third quarter 2012 earnings of $51.6 million or 54 cents per share on revenue of $196.9 million.
Ansys said the GAAP results reflect stock-based compensation charges of $9.1 million, or 7 cents per share.
ANSYS said its total GAAP revenue of $625.2 million in the first nine months of 2013 compared with $577.3 million in the first nine months of 2012.
It also reported third-quarter non-GAAP revenue of $213.4 million, compared with $199.8 million in the third quarter of 2012.
Chief Executive Officer Jim Cashman said in a statement that the latest results “continue to reflect the strength of our resilient business model and dedication to delivering on our commitments, balanced against the realities of operating in a less-than-robust global economy.” Cashman said the performance was reflected in North America and Europe, “which experienced double-digit revenue growth in both reported and constant currency for the quarter.”
Cashman said the company is looking forward to the upcoming release of ANSYS 15.0.
