Lacrosse, hockey coach enjoyed hiking
Daniel Robert Berry, 30, of Washington, died unexpectedly Monday, November 18, 2013, in Pittsburgh.
He was born November 16, 1983, in Washington, a son of Daniel Berry and Beth Ellen Weaver Berry, who survive.
Mr. Berry was a graduate of Trinity High School and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He was a private graphic/web designer. He also coached lacrosse and hockey for five years at Trinity and two years at McGuffey.
Mr. Berry played in various bands and enjoyed hiking.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, is his fiancée, Denielle Dydiw; a sister, Nina (Steven) Adams, of Washington; a nephew, Noah Adams; and a niece, Kali Adams.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m., the time of service, Friday, November 22, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.

Washington resident was self-employed plumber
Matthew Wayne Clayton, 55, of Washington, died November 19, 2013, in his residence.
He was born May 31, 1958, in Washington, a son of the late David Clayton Sr. and Lois J. Miller Clayton.
Mr. Clayton was a 1978 graduate of Avella High School and was a self-employed plumber.
Surviving are his wife, Stacey McMullen; a son, Chad Clayton of Belle Vernon; two daughters, Gina Mace of Washington and Cassandra Clayton of Houston; two brothers, Paul W. Clayton and David A. Clayton Jr., both of Avella; and five grandchildren, Shelby Mace, Cameron Mace, Adam Mace, Tyler Clayton and Leyna Clayton.
A memorial service will be held at noon Tuesday, November 26, in Upper Buffalo Presbyterian Church, Buffalo Village, with Pastor Judy Mayer officiating.

Enjoyed travel
Marie Paro Dudas, 94, of Monongahela, died peacefully in her sleep Sunday morning, November 17, 2013. She had been a resident of Mon Valley Care Center since 2011.
Born October 15, 1919, in Donora, she was a daughter of the late George and Catherine Sasko Paro.
In her youth, Mrs. Dudas attended schools at St. Dominic’s Catholic Parish and the Donora School District.
Over her lifetime, she was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, Donora, and St. Damien of Molokai (St. Anthony Catholic Church) in Monongahela. She was a past member of St. Anthony’s Altar Rosary-Christian Mothers Society, Catholic Daughters of America 955 at Transfiguration and belonged to the Monongahela AARP.
Mrs. Dudas worked in the cafeteria in the Carroll Township school of Ringgold School District. She also volunteered at St. Anthony’s Grade School and Church.
She enjoyed trips with her late sister, Frances, and various friends to Catholic shrines in Canada and the United States.
She married John Dudas Jr., of Monongahela, who died August, 18, 2009. They were married for over 70 years and lived in Monongahela during that time.
Surviving are her devoted children, daughter Catherine Dudas Kukich and husband Sylvester of Pleasant Hills and son Joseph Dudas and wife Susan of Houston; a daughter-in-law, Kathryn “Kathy” Dudas of Edinburg; grandchildren Marc Dudas of Las Vegas, Nev., and Kathryn “Katie” Dudas and Patrick Dudas of Edinburg; along with many faithful nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deceased are a loving son, George Dudas of Edinburg, who died February 5, 2008; her sisters, Theresa Krizan of Ambridge and Frances Dobosh of Belle Vernon; and a brother, Frank Paro, who died at the age of one.
She was the last member of her immediate family.
The family extends sincere gratitude and thanks to many health care providers over the years for the care of their mother, especially Dr. Joseph Michael and staff, Mon Valley Care Center and Amedisys Hospice.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 23, in St. Damien of Molokai Parish (St. Anthony Church), Monongahela, with Fr. Joseph Feltz as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township.

Former Clarksville resident
Barbara Giubileo, 77, of Fairfax, Va., formerly of Clarksville, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 12, 2013.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Gaspare and Margaret Giubileo, and cherished sister to deceased siblings, Frances Szallay, John J. Giubileo and James Giubileo.
Mrs. Giubileo was a 40-plus-year resident of Fairfax and was employed by AOC Solutions as their director of administration.
Surviving are two nephews, Stephen A. Szallay and his wife, Barbara, of Gibsonia; John P. Giubileo and his wife, Kathleen, of Morgan Hill, Calif.; niece Gina Giubileo Miller and her husband, Bernie, of Clarksville; four great-nephews, Brian Szallay, wife Kristin, son Owen, of Jacksonville, Fla.; James Miller, wife Cassie Midkiff, son Dominic; Nathan Miller; and Jason Miller; and four great-nieces, Heather Szallay Rhea, husband Darin, daughter Kylie of Aurora, Ill.; Rebecca Giubileo; Anna Giubileo; and Isabella Giubileo of Morgan Hill.
A memorial service and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 7, in St. Timothy’s R.C. Church, Chantilly, Va. Interment will follow at a later date in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.

Noblestown Presbyterian Church
Ernest Parkinson “Ernie” Hampson, 82, of McDonald, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013, in Washington Hospital.
He was born April 6, 1931, in McDonald, a son of the late Samuel and Margaret Parkinson Hampson.
Mr. Hampson worked as a brick layer his entire life, before retiring in 1997. He also worked for a time in maintenance at the former Joy Dog Food Plant in Oakdale.
He was a member of Noblestown Presbyterian Church and the McDonald Rod and Gun Club.
On November 14, 1950, he married Jean Ann Snatchko, who died March 18, 1998.
Surviving are two daughters, Cathy (Jeff) Denny of McDonald and Amy (Chris) Alevizatos of Baltimore, Md.; a son, Ernie W. (Sandy) Hampson of McDonald; a sister, Ann Wolfe of Oakdale; a brother, Merle Hampson of McDonald; ten grandchildren, Jennifer (Larry) Heirendt, Kimberly and Timothy Hampson, Erin (Brian Campbell), Jeffrey (Niki) and Jason Denny, Kayla, Braeden, Sarah and Ryan Alevizatos; and nine great-grandchildren, Tanner, Grace and Nathan Heirendt, Mya Hampson, Trysten, Tayleigh and Teyrissa Denny, Jayson Denny and Ethan Campbell.
Deceased are a son, Samuel Hampson; two sisters, Goldie Brockman and Honey Kalucki; and two brothers, James and Robert Hampson.

Loving mother and homemaker
Paulene Virginia Kemp, 94, of McDonald, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, November 20, 2013, surrounded by her family at home.
She was born June 18, 1919, in McDonald, a daughter of the late Rupert and Geneva Sandidge Smith.
Mrs. Kemp was a loving mother and homemaker. She also worked for a time as a cook at the former Oakdale Boys Home.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of McDonald and the church’s Missionary Society. She was also a member of McDonald Lioness Club.
On March 13, 1941, she married Danie Kemp, who died January 25, 2010.
Surviving are three daughters, Odessa Kemp of Bridgeville, Theresa I. Armstrong and Lenora A. Kemp, both of McDonald; a son, Daniel A. (Cassandra) Kemp of McDonald; six grandchildren, Todd (Traci), Dayna, and Daniel Kemp, Mark Perkins, and Brandi and John Richardson; eight great-grandchildren, Alexcia, Ariana, Jadyn, Josiah and Olivia Kemp, Kamryn Bryce Jackson, Maleeke Lee and Naseem Lee Perkins; and one great-great-grandchild, Rayleigh Kemp.
Deceased are a grandson, Eric Armstrong; three sisters, Aleatha Gaskin, Theresa Ellis and LaVerne Thorton; and a brother, Donald Smith.

Joanne E. Leech, 69, of Venetia, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013, in Center for Compassionate Care, Mt. Lebanon.
She was born July 26, 1944, in New Eagle, a daughter of the late William and Catherine McClymont Cooper.
Mrs. Leech was a homemaker and a member of Wright’s United Methodist Church, Venetia.
Surviving are her husband, Robert L. Leech; three sons, Robert W. and Ryan Leech and his friend, Donna Schwartz, all of Venetia, and Rory Leech and his wife, Michelle, of Terre Haute, Ind.; a daughter, Robyn Trost of South Park; a brother, Jack Cooper of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a sister, Lois Stilwell of Austin, Texas; eleven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, is a sister, Bonnie Roadway.

Carolyne “Sis” Dennis Rush Speer Lowery, 70, of Washington, died at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington.
She was born July 24, 1943, in Wheeling, W.Va., a daughter of the late John L. and Rebecca E. Hollaway Dennis.
Mrs. Lowery attended Wellsburg High School. She was a Home Interiors sales representative for 15 years and was also employed at Arc Human Services of Washington.
She was Methodist and lived in Washington since 2006.
Mrs. Lowery loved her two dogs, Trudy and Bella.
On September 18, 1962, she married Robert P. “Butch” Rush, who died April 29, 1984.
On June 22, 2002, she married Tom Lowery, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Robert L. “Butch” Rush of Avella and Gary W. Rush of Avella; two brothers, John L. Dennis Jr. of Massillon, Ohio, and Timothy Dennis of Brilliant, Ohio; two sisters, Barbara (Rich) Dennis of Washington and Sandra (Ken) Rush of Wellsburg, W.Va.; four half-sisters, Dianna, Selma, Ronda and Alicia, all of Canton, Ohio; a half-brother, Jerry Dennis of Tennessee; stepmother, Sylvia Dennis of Canton; and a stepbrother, Elmer Bywaters of Dover, Ohio.

Mary Golubofsky DeSanto McGraw, 84, of Burgettstown, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013, in Country Meadows, Bridgeville.
She was born April 14, 1929, in Slovan, a daughter of the late Sagy and Anna Hayden Golubofsky.
Mrs. McGraw was a homemaker and was Russian Orthodox. She liked dancing and enjoyed spending time with family.
Surviving are her daughter, Renee (Edward “Sonny”) Bongiorni of Hickory and her son, Peter J. (Linda) DeSanto of Steubenville, Ohio; her brother, George Golubofsky of Slovan; her sisters, Helen Gagich of Cleveland, Ohio, and Sonia Lee of Warren, Ohio; her four grandchildren, Roxanne, Bradley, P.J., and Bryan; and her two great-grandchildren, Dominic and Nicholas.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her first husband, John “Ruff” DeSanto, and her second husband, James McGraw.

World War II veteran
Albert T. Penak, 86, of Fellsburg, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013, in Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford.
Born in Donora on September 11, 1927, he was a son of the late John and Mary Metenko Penak.
Mr. Penak served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a personnel clerk in Washington, D.C.. and also in the Korean War within the U.S. Army Occupation Troops in Germany.
An active member of the Church of St. Anne in Rostraver Township, he served as an usher, on parish council and sang in the choir.
He was a former Catholic War Veteran Adjutant and a 2nd Vice Commander and 19th District Commander. He was a member of Ernest Jobes American Legion Post 212 Donora and Donora Elks Lodge 1265, and also delivered Meals on Wheels.
He is survived by his son, Brian T. Penak; daughters, Patricia M. Penak Baker, Diane (William) Lundgren and Dana Kantz; six grandchildren, Mikayla Baker, Madison, Katie and Jack Kantz, Alec Penak and Kelista Lundgren; and sisters, Margaret Penak and Pauline Kopas.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are brothers, John and Joseph Penak; and sisters, Helen Penak, Irene Carly and Anne Schmidt.

Active in church and community
Mary Lou Piazza, 84, of Southview, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013, in St. Clair Hospital.
She was born July 14, 1929, in Ravenna, Ohio, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Palmisano Bruzzese.
She was a member of St. Mary Parish and choir, in a group called Sister Act and played the Mother Superior, Mt. Pleasant Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and the former Cecil Grange. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, cooking and baking. Everything she made was good, but she was known for her pumpkin rolls. She was always active in her church and the community.
She worked as a cafeteria worker in Fort Cherry High School for 25 years.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph L. Piazza Jr. of Southview, a son, Dominick ‘Mick’ (Juliana) Piazza of Southview; two daughters, Theresa Piazza of Heidelberg and Victoria Piazza of Pittsburgh, two grandchildren, Christina (Ryan) Robertson of Crafton and Talia Piazza of Pittsburgh, two sisters, Genevieve Cardamone of Carnegie and Theresa Mull of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and a brother, Dominic Bruzzese of Gainesville, Fla.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, is a sister, Virginia Talota.

Finleyville resident
Agnes Besaha Young of Finleyville, died Tuesday, November 19, 2013.
She was the wife of the late Donald Young; beloved mother of Marye Zoe Young (Antoine Jordan), Suzanne Young (Kenneth Kiel), and the late Gary Young; and grandmother of Jade and Mason.
Mrs. Young was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, where she was a Eucharistic minister, a member of the ladies guild and helped with the funeral luncheons.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in David J. Henney Funeral Home, 6364 Library Road, Route 88, Library. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 23, in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Finleyville.
