A Peters Township man was arrested twice Tuesday, released once and later remanded to the Washington County jail until a preliminary hearing Nov. 19, township police said.

Scott G. Anderson, 49, was charged following an argument with his wife at 10:45 a.m. in their home in the 100 block of Rock Run Road. Police said he shoved his wife against the wall causing multiple scratches on her left arm and elbow, and a lump on the back of her head. Anderson was charged with simple assault, was arraigned before District Judge Valarie Costanzo and was released on $10,000 unsecured bond. His hearing on the simple assault charge was set for Nov. 19. He was instructed to have no contact with his wife and not to return to his house. Police returned him to his business at 2 p.m.

At 4:49 p.m., officers were again called to the Anderson residence, where his wife said he had entered the house through a rear door. Police said there was evidence of forced entry and clothes and a glass cup were found scattered on the first floor. The wife, whose name was not released, said she received a text message from her husband at 1:50 p.m. threatening to kill her.

Police found his vehicle in the parking lot of a nearby shopping center and located Anderson walking near his house. He was arrested for the second time and charged with terroristic threats. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and was placed in jail without bond until his Nov. 19 hearing, police said.
