Enjoyed bow hunting, playing bocci
Kenneth S. “Doc” Devore, 74, of Eighty Four, died Thursday, December 19, 2013, in Washington Hospital.
He was born September 15, 1939, in Finleyville, a son of James and Anna Merriman Devore.
Mr. Devore was self-employed as a landscaper and previously was employed at the former McGraw Edison Company in Canonsburg.
He was an elder at Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church in Eighty Four and a member of Falcon Archery Club in Canonsburg.
Mr. Devore enjoyed bow hunting, competition archery shooting and playing bocci and paper football with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Stella Curdie Devore; two sons, George Devore and wife Diane of Eighty Four and Scott Devore and wife Karen of Bellefonte; a daughter, Cathy Meehan and husband David of Surprise, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 23, in Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church, 45 Church Road, Eighty Four, with the Rev. Eric Powell officiating. Private interment will be held in Mingo Cemetery, Finleyville.
