Elizabeth O’Hare

Elizabeth “Lesa” O’Hare, 83, of Muse, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 3, 2013, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh, with her family by her side.
She was born August 19, 1930, in Avella, a daughter of the late Sam and Natalina Panone Bernardi.
Mrs. O’Hare lived most of her life in Muse, where she was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers and Guild and served as a greeter at Mass for many years.
Prior to her retirement, she had been employed for 20 years as a nurse’s aide at the former Western Center.
Mrs. O’Hare was a graduate of Cecil High School, was a devoted homemaker, avid cook and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of Muse Senior Citizens and the Ladies Auxiliaries of Muse Independent Club and Muse Volunteer Fire Department.
On February 24, 1951, she married Donald E. O’Hare, who passed away July 17, 1992.
Surviving are two sons, pastor Donald (Joan) O’Hare and Patrick J. (P.J.) O’Hare at home; three daughters, Kathleen (David) Nackoul of Canonsburg and Lisa (Larry A.) Zofchak and Corinne O’Hare, both of Muse; a brother, Tony (Theresa) Bernardi of Muse; seven grandchildren, Kelly (Adam) Dunn, Katie (Scott) Bowers, Lauren (Brian) Erney, Lindsey and Derek Zofchak and David and Michael Nackoul; three great-grandchildren, Caleb Bacon and Reagan and Grant Dunn; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are two sisters, Mary DeFelice and Antoinette Kacvinsky, and a brother, Geno Bernardi.
Friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 9:20 a.m. Saturday, December 7, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Muse, with the Rev. George T. DeVille, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. The Christian Mothers and Guild of Holy Rosary Church will recite the rosary at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
