Robert Joseph Weimer, 58, of Harrisburg, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013, as the result of an ATV accident.
He was born August 1, 1955, in Chicago, Ill., a son of Dr. Joseph Clarence Weimer and Lillian Mokry Weimer of Washington.
Mr. Weimer was a paddock judge for 20 years, employed by Pa. State Thoroughbred Commission. He was known as “Riders up Bob” at the racetrack.
He trained horses and was an avid horseman. He enjoyed mowing grass, cooking out with family and playing Frisbee with his dog, Kimba.
On April 15, 1980, he married Barbara Zug Weimer, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Geoffrey Joseph Weimer of Harrisburg; a daughter, Lauren Weimer of Harrisburg; a brother, Paul Weimer of Washington; and a sister, Karen (Louis Lalama) Weimer of Moon Township.
At the request of the family, there will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, in St. John Methodist Church, Grantsville. Arrangements are being handled by William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
