The Meadows Racetrack & Casino was a big table games winner in November, registering a 26.4 percent increase in gross revenue year over year, according to figures provided this week by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
Revenue at 75 tables last month was $2,218,094, a substantial rise from $1,754,328 at 80 tables in November 2012. Yet, that monthly figure was the second-lowest recorded in 2013 at the North Strabane Township casino, ahead of just $1,941,422 in February. And its November 2012 total was the lowest of any month that year.
Meadows table games have accounted for $1,664,290 in state taxes this fiscal year (July 2013 through June 2014) and $15,481,367 overall.
Pennsylvania casinos, collectively, also fared well in November, generating $63,741,428 in revenue, a 14.1 percent rise year over year from $55,869,258. That included $474,502 in revenue from 28 tables at Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, which opened July 1.
But if that figure from the Fayette County facility is excluded, revenue from the 11 casinos open both Novembers rose 13.2 percent.
Of those 11, seven posted a gain from November 2012. Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh was among the four exceptions, declining 12.4 percent (from $6,026,852 to $5,275,120).
Table games at all 12 venues last month resulted in $9,131,899 in tax revenue. The combined revenue of table and slots play was $253,712,081, a 2.2 percent rise from $248,381,749 the previous November.
