Duncan Alcorn

CLARKSVILLE – Ashley Rhoads and Duncan Alcorn, seniors at Jefferson-Morgan High School, were honored by the Clarksville Area Lions Club as students of the months for December and January 2014, respectively.

Rhoads, daughter of Tim Rhoads of Clarksville and Misty Booth of Waynesburg, maintains a 3.75 grade-point average.

She is a member of the National Honor Society, president of the marching band, is a girl governor through the Womens and Girls Foundation, was a junior May Day attendant and is a member of the soccer team.

Rhoads also is a student in the building and construction occupations class at the Greene County Career and Technology Center.

Outside of school, she is a member of the Jefferson Baptist Worship Team and also is a vocational Bible school helper and children’s church helper.

Rhoads plans to obtain a degree in technology education at California University of Pennsylvania.

Alcorn, son of Francesca and Charles Alcorn of Waynesburg, maintains a 4.35 grade-point average.

He is a member of the National Honor Society, Academic Team, drama club and envirothon.

He has received the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award.

Alcorn, who volunteers at the Greene County Humane Society, plans to attend college to study mathematics and then graduate school for engineering.
