DeBlasio owner sentenced to five years probation

The owner of DeBlasio Restaurant was sentenced Tuesday to five years probation after he was convicted of federal income tax evasion.

United States District Judge David S. Cercone sentenced Donald J. DeBlasio, 69, of Presto,to five years probation, including 24 months of house arrest, and ordered to pay a $10,000 fine and complete 500 hours of community service.

DeBlasio skimmed cash from restaurant sales,according to a press release from the Department of Justice. The skimming resulting in a total tax loss of $341,128.62 “from the filing of false personal, corporate and payroll tax returns” during the years 2007 through 2009, the release said.
