Avid sports fan served in Air Force
Harry A. Cox Jr., 82, of Elyria, Ohio, died Friday, December 27, 2013, in Kingston of Vermilion, Vermilion, Ohio.
He was born March 4, 1931, in Canonsburg.
Mr. Cox came to the Elyria area in 1962. He was most recently a resident of The Abbewood.
He served with the United States Air Force and was a supervisor for Federal Aviation Administration in Oberlin.
Mr. Cox was a member of St. Jude Church, Alcoholics Anonymous since 1986, the American Legion Post 12 and NARFE.
He was an avid sports fan, particularly enjoying the Pittsburg Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.
Surviving are a daughter, Pamela (Eric) Miller of Lorain, Ohio; a sister, Diana Cochran of Clarksburg, Md.; a sister-in-law, Frances Cox of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are his wife, Dolores J. Grillo Cox in 2011, and a brother, David Cox.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, Elyria, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 3, with the Rev. Frank P. Kosem officiating. Entombment will be held in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, Ohio. Full military honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1079.
