Enjoyed crocheting, spending time with family

Irene Salansky, 81, of Atlasburg, died Monday, December 2, 2013, in Humbert Lane Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre, Washington.

She was born September 21, 1932, in Colliers, W.Va., a daughter of the late Frank Sr. and Mary Bzdil Maczko.

On December 19, 1953, she married Peter Salansky, who died September 5, 2013.

Prior to retirement, Mrs. Salansky was employed by Delfrates Meats in Slovan.

She was a member of St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, Avella.

Mrs. Salansky enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family.

Surviving are a son, Mark (Victoria) Salansky of Atlasburg; a sister, Pauline Reid; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her husband, are four brothers, Frank, John, Mike and Steve Maczko; and three sisters, Mary Schultz, Florence Giacomel and Helen Nicola.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 6, with the Rev. Ed Lucas officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
