Enjoyed crocheting, reading and camping

Mildred L. DeMurry, 91, of Brownsville, formerly of Waynesburg and Sycamore, died Sunday, December 15, 2013, in Uniontown Hospital.

She was born May 27, 1922, in Sycamore, a daughter of the late Sherman and Esther Iams Pounds.

Mrs. DeMurry was a 1940 graduate of Waynesburg High School.

She was a homemaker and, at one time, was an assistant postmistress at Sycamore Post Office.

Mrs. DeMurry enjoyed crocheting, reading and camping with her husband.

On February 20, 1949, she married Frederick “Mike” DeMurry, who died February 13, 1995.

Surviving are two daughters, Judy Everly and husband Charles of Greensboro and Linda Filardi and husband Joe of Brownsville, with whom she had made her home; four grandchildren, Michelle Bruno Gribble, Jodi Bruno, Stacy Bruno and Joel Filardi; six great-grandchildren, Natasha Ratica, Kodey Bruno, Lacey Bruno, Alisha Gribble, Nathan Gribble and Chandler Filardi; and a great-great-granddaughter, McKenzie Ratica.

Deceased is a brother, Daniel E. Pounds.
