After 13 years as head coach and leading Canon-McMillan’s wrestling program through arguably its most historic periods in school history, Chris Mary resigned as head coach. Mary coached the Big Macs to five of the past six PIAA team titles and also was in the corner when the Big Macs won their fourth consecutive WPIAL Team Tournament title, a record for Class AAA teams.
Named National Coach of the Year by USA Wrestling Magazine, Mary compiled a 214-42 record at Canon-Mac.
Mary coached six state champions, 72 section champs and 20 WPIAL winners. Under Mary, Canon-McMillan had 34 state placewinners, 13 Dapper Dan representatives and three participants in the USA Dream Team Classic.
