Heinz retiree was beloved husband, loving father
Edward J. Poisel Jr., 70, of Bethel Park, formerly of McKeesport, passed away Monday, December 23, 2013.
He was the beloved husband of Kathleen Kirsopp-Poisel and the late Nellie “Kitty” Gollings Poisel; son of the late Rosalia and Edward J. Sr.; loving father of Cheryl (Thomas) Mikolay of Washington and Michael Poisel of Chicago, Ill.; stepfather of Christinia (Harold) Chikuni of Upper St. Clair and Elizabeth Eslep of Finleyville; grandfather of Makayla, Johanna, Rebekah, Emma and Dexter; and brother of Sarah “Sally” Good, Daniel Poisel, Mary Ellen (Bruce) Renstrom, John (Cathy) Poisel, Sheila (Gene) Brady and the late Robert Poisel.
Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Paul L. Henney Memorial Chapel, 5570 Library Road, Bethel Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Finleyville. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, December 30, in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Full military honors will be accorded.
Mr. Poisel retired from H.J. Heinz in 2001.
He was past commander and secretary of American Legion Post 490 in Castle Shannon.
