Edwin Lee Andrew, 82, of Washington, was called home to his Lord, Sunday, December 1, 2013, in Washington Hospital, following a brief illness.
He was born March 25, 1931, in Washington, a son of Albert Edwin Andrew and Nora Eustis Andrew.
Mr. Andrew was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
He was a 1949 graduate of Trinity High School and a 1953 graduate of Waynesburg University, with a degree in business.
Mr. Andrew was member of Faith United Presbyterian Church.
He was an avid sports fan, dartball player, golfer and especially enjoyed watching his four grandchildren participate in various sports. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his family.
Mr. Andrew was a human resources director for more than 50 years. Upon his retirement, he was the shuttle driver for DoubleTree hotel in Meadow Lands.
On November 11, 1961, he married Nancy Carroll, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Scott Edwin (Victoria) Andrew of Bethel Park; a daughter, Sonja (Paul) Andrew Heidish of Washington; a brother, James E. (Jenny) Andrew of Espyville; four grandchildren, Tyler and Kendra Andrew and Peyton and Allyson Heidish; a brother-in-law, Donald G. Emery; five nephews, Eric (Darla), Jon (Ann Marie), Joe (Becky) and Joel Andrew and Bryan Emery; and a niece, Kristin Emery.
Deceased are a daughter, Sharon and sisters-in-laws Linda Andrew and Marilyn Emery.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 5, in Faith United Presbyterian Church, 900 East Beau Street, Washington. Arrangements are being handled by William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
