Washington County man pleads guilty to federal drug charge

A Washington County man pleaded guilty Monday to a federal drug charge.

Andrew Brown, 23, of 698 Vanceville Road, Eighty Four, pleaded guilty to one charge of violating federal narcotics laws in front of U.S. District Judge Arthur J. Schwab.

Brown was accused of possessing and distributing oxycodone, and passing several fraudulent prescriptions at pharmacies across Western Pennsylvania.

A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for May 13. Brown faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine of $1 million.
