Carmichaels Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491 will hold a New Year’s Eve party culminating in a midnight buffet. Cost is $15 per couple and $10 for single. There will be a disc jockey and all proceeds benefit the post’s building fund. The event is open to the public and guests are reminded there is no smoking in the hall. Whiteley Township Tax Collector Linda VanDruff is reminding residents all taxes are due today. VanDruff will be collecting taxes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the books will be closed Jan. 2.
