Diamond – Vanzin
Melissa Vanzin and Thomas E. Diamond were united in marriage June 15, 2013, in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Washington, with the Rev. Lou Pascazi officiating the 3 p.m. ceremony.
The bride’s parents are Stephen F. and Doris Vanzin of Washington. Her grandparents are Fred Vanzin, Doris Connelly, the late Edward Connelly and the late Herbert and Mary Gardner.
Parents of the bridegroom are Thomas N. and Claudia Diamond of Hickory. His grandparents are Bonnie Diamond, the late Thomas E. Diamond and the late Nick and Mary Aloisi.
The bride given in marriage by her father.
Maid of honor for her sister was Lisa Vanzin of Washington. Bridesmaids were Elysia Cecchetti, Robyn Christenson, Ashley Sicher, Amanda Scott, Krystal Finkbeiner and Molly Goodman. Flower girl was Roxy Bushmire, cousin of bride.
Best man was Patrick Diamond of Hickory, brother of groom. Ushers were Stephen Vanzin, brother of bride, Joseph Basile, cousin of groom, Branden Slaven, Jeff Cowden, Jordan Fargiorgio and Derick Weitoish. Ring bearer was Kaden Slaven.
Readers were Mary Grimmer, aunt of bride, Andrea Chancey and Patrick Diamond, brother of groom.
A reception was held at North Franklin social hall in Washington.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Fort Cherry Junior/Senior High School, a 2009 graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania and a 2013 graduate of the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn. She is an optometrist with Sears Optical.
The groom is a 2006 graduate of Fort Cherry Junior/Senior High School and a 2010 graduate of Clarion University of Pennsylvania. He is a high school social studies teacher with Central Greene School District
The newlyweds took a honeymoon trip to Aruba and make their home in Waynesburg.
