The Washington County Conservation District will hold free workshops to help owners and managers of dairy, beef, equine and other small operations that produce or use manure understand new state regulations and create a manure management plan.

The workshops will be held at the Washington Conservation District office, 2800 N. Main St., Suite 105, Washington, as follows:

• Dairy and beef operations, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 22;

• Equine and other small operations, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 26.

Bring a farm plan map. Those who don’t have a map can ask the district to help create one in advance. Lunch, catered by a local restaurant, will be provided.

Each workshop is limited to 15 participants, and the registration deadline is Feb. 14 for the dairy and beef workshop and April 17 for the equine workshop. To RSVP, contact Stephen Gilkinson or Tom Ulrich by calling 724-206-9446 or emailing sgilkinson@pawccd.org or tulrich@pawccd.org.

Financial support for the project is provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection through the Clean Water Fund.
