Woman hurt in N. Strabane accident

A woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Johnson Road in North Strabane Township shortly after 4:30 p.m. Friday.

North Strabane Township fire chief Mark Grimm said the woman was traveling south on Johnson Road when she lost control of the sports utility vehicle she was driving and crossed a grassy area adjacent to The Meadows Racetrack & Casino.

She was flown by emergency helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, for treatment of head injuries.

The woman was not identified.
