Member of St. Francis of Assisi Church Mary Taylor, 91, of Finleyville, died Thursday, October 11, 2012, in Center for Compassionate Care, Mt. Lebanon. She was born November 9, 1920, in Shaw Mine, daughter of Alex and Eva Szafranski Stanko. Mrs. Taylor was a retired cook for Ringgold School District, having worked at the cafeterias in Gastonville and Finley junior high schools. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Finleyville and was active in its Ladies Guild and Christian Mothers. Mrs. Taylor also was a member of the GoldenAgers and Forever Young Club in Finleyville. Surviving are two sons, Mark Taylor of Gainesville, Ga., and Rob Taylor of Rockwall, Texas; two daughters, Judy DeVine of Venetia and Karen Battaglia of Safety Harbor, Fla.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are her husband, Charles Taylor, who died in 1974, and three brothers, Bill, Charles and Mike Stanko. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday, October 15, in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Finleyville, with the Rev. Richard Tusky as celebrant. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 50 Moffett Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15234.
