J-M hires Niemiec as girls basketball coach

The Jefferson-Morgan School Board hired Chris Niemiec Monday night as the Rockets’ girls basketball head coach.

Niemiec replaces Ellen Hildebrand, who was not retained after five seasons.

Jefferson-Morgan recently completed a 12-11 season that included a berth in the WPIAL Class A playoffs.

Niemec spent three years (2010-11 through 2012-13) as J-M’s boys basketball coach. He had a 25-43 record that included three trips to the WPIAL playoffs, including one in Class AA.
