WAYNESBURG – A Rices Landing man who pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol was sentenced Thursday by Judge Farley Toothman to 30 days in jail followed by 5 years in the Greene County Intermediate Punishment Program.
John Robert Kino Jr., 39, of 119 Highland Road, was arrested May 10 with a blood-alcohol content of 0.199 percent. State police pulled Kino over in Jefferson Township for an expired vehicle registration.
This was Kino’s second offense in the last 10 years.
He pleaded guilty to charges of DUI and two summary traffic violations Jan. 8.
Toothman ordered Kino to spend the first 240 days of his intermediate punishment sentence under house arrest with GPS monitoring and an alcohol-detection bracelet.
He will be permitted to be released during the jail portion of the sentence on work release.
At the conclusion of the five-year intermediate punishment sentence, Kino will be paroled into Greene County Reentry Court.
He also was ordered to pay $1,535 in fines plus court costs and fees in addition to serving 225 hours of community service.
