Injuries reported: Cumberland Township Police were called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Route 21 at Green Valley Road shortly after noon Tuesday. According to police, a truck traveling east toward Carmichaels crossed into the path of a passenger car traveling west toward Waynesburg. Cumberland Borough police Chief Craig Miller said one driver was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. The other driver was taken by ambulance to Southwest Regional Medical Center. There were no passengers in either vehicle. The names and condition of the drivers were not available. State police and the Carmichaels Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Simple assault: Gary Black Jr., 25, of Waynesburg, was charged with simple assault and resisting arrest after he allegedly attempted to start a fight with another man at 12:20 a.m. Monday at the entrance to Mountain View Gardens, state police said.Police said Black displayed a “shiny silver object” to the victim and then resisted when they attempted to take him into custody. Black was found to be possession of a knife, police said.

No injuries: No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash at 3:20 p.m. Friday on Route 88, state police said.Police said Rodney R. Robinson, 17, of Dilliner, was pulling onto Route 88 from Mapletown Road when his vehicle entered the path of a vehicle on Route 88 driven by Jeffrey Lapping, 46, of Waynesburg.

No injuries: No injuries were reported in a three-vehicle crash at 10:34 p.m. Oct. 14 on East Greene Street, Waynesburg police said. Police said Jill Crouse, 22, of Washington, lost control of her vehicle while driving east. Her vehicle struck two vehicles parked at the south curb owned by Benny Staggers and Harry Chadderton, both of Waynesburg.Criminal mischief: An undetermined amount of change was stolen from two Huebsche washing machines at the Econowash on North Franklin Street sometime between 8:30 p.m. Oct. 21 and 10 a.m. Oct. 22. Police said someone pried open and stole coin boxes from the machines, damaging them in the process. Apparent attempts to break into other washing machines were unsuccessful, police said.Vandalism: A shot from a high-caliber weapon was fired into a Pepsi bottle dispensing machine at 58 Maiden St. between the evening of Oct. 15 and noon on Oct. 22. The owner of the machine is Brian Steinmiller of Waynesburg. The cost to repair damages to the machine is undertermined.
