Rose Janet Darney Keys
Rose Janet Darney Keys, 81, of Carmichaels, died on August 16, 2023, in Taylor Healthcare Center, Grafton, W.Va., after a brief illness.
Janet was born on June 18, 1942, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Andrew Darney and Rose White Darney.
Surviving is a son, Jeffrey T. Keys (Sheila), of Chester, Va., and a daughter, Sharon K Peters (Ron), of Grafton W.Va., three grandchildren, Lauren Royce of Powhatan, Va., Tyler Keys (Mary Ruth), of Colonial Heights, Va., Thomas Peters (Camey), of Bridgeport, W.Va.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
On April 15, 1961, Janet married Paul Thomas Keys, who died on July 17, 2018. She is also preceded in death by three brothers, Andrew, Dennis, and Richard Darney, and a sister-in-law Mary Ann Darney.
Janet was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in Carmichaels. She served as the treasurer and was involved in the church’s Mission Circle.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and loved her family with all her heart. She enjoyed baking and was well known for her delicious pepperoni rolls. She served the Lord and her family with gladness.
Family and friends will be welcomed from 12 to 2 p.m. on Saturday August 19, in the Paul M. Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, PA 15320. 724-966-5100. Paul M. Lesako, Owner/Supervisor.
The service will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Zane Mitchell.
Interment will follow at a later date in the West Virginia National Cemetery, Grafton, W.Va.
