Adeline Spinosa Colusci
Adeline Spinosa Colusci passed away peacefully Monday, August 28, 2023, after having lived 100 good years and 2 bad weeks.
She was born February 1, 1923, in Meadowlands, the only child to Salvatore “Sam” Spinosa and Maria DiSantis Monaco Spinosa, immigrants from Intradaqua, Italy.
She was the loving wife of Samuel Colusci, who preceded her in death in April, 2005. Knowing each other since childhood, the high school sweethearts shared 63 years of marriage, built a life, a home and a successful family business, Sam Colusci Transmission Service in Canonsburg, where she lived all of her life.
She was the mother of Dennis (Linda) Colusci and Donna (Frank) Milito, whom she loved beyond measure; along with her grandchildren, Dawn Wallace (Kenny) Sturgill, Damon (Melanie) Colusci, Nathan Chaholusci, Nicolas Milito and Anthony Milito (deceased); and great-grandchildren, Liam, Jackson and Matthew Colusci, and Lauren, Alexander and Benjamin Wallace. She was also the loving aunt and second mother to many nieces and nephews, friends and family.
Proud of her Italian heritage, she was a true lover of life and family, giving, caring, loving and sharing. She was a fantastic cook and gracious hostess to all who entered her home, family and friends too numerous to count.
She, along with her husband, loved to travel; trips to Mexico, Aruba, Las Vegas, Atlantic City and especially Italy, were the highlights of her life besides her family. She looked forward to excursions to the local casinos along with her lady friends, especially her best friend of later years, Rose Yorke. She was loved and respected by all who knew her, old friends of Canonsburg and new friends of Greensburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Ida Spinosa (Sam) Mastrangelo, Elda Spinosa (Joe) Megessey, Elio (Bella) Spinosa, Lydia Spinosa (Albert) Mark and Mario (Barbara) Monaco.
The family extends their deepest appreciation to all the doctors, nurses, support staff and care givers at Excela Westmoreland Hospital, along with RNC of Greater Pittsburgh for the loving care and attention during her final days, as well as the concern and support of dear friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALM Foundation, Greensburg, Anthony Milito, Children’s Charity, Canonsburg Hospital, Police, or Fire Departments.
Friends and family will be received from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Friday, September 1, in Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317. A private burial will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
