The First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon, located at 501 Fayette St., will hold its monthly food and fellowship Oct. 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A free meal will be provided. All are welcome. For more information, call 724-929-7616.
The St. Vincent de Paul-sponsored food bank will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at the parking lot of the St. Mary’s Social Hall (118 Church St., Brownsville) from 11 a.m. through noon. Volunteers will load the food directly into your car, and participants are asked to remain in their cars. Families must be registered with the Fayette County Community Action Agency to receive food. Anyone not registered and lives in the Brownville Area must complete the required paperwork before receiving their food. Those who register on the day of the food bank are not guaranteed a box of food at the site and may have to travel to the food distribution warehouse in Republic. Families wishing to sign up on the distribution day must bring photo identification, the date of birth of each person in the household and address verification.
The Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will offer a coffee and crafts program on Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. The group will meet at the Mingo Creek Park Office. This month’s craft will be a decorative sock pumpkin. Materials will be provided. Light refreshments and treats will be provided. The fee is $2. Pre-registration is required and can be made by calling the Washington County Parks Office at 724-228-6867. Mingo Creek County Park is located 13 miles east of Washington off Route 136.
