Louis George Oliverio
Louis George “Louie” Oliverio, of Greenback, Tenn., formerly of Houston, Pa., entered his eternal home Monday, September 4, 2023, surrounded by his family.
He was born April 25, 1944, a son of the late Arthur Oliverio and Helen Matyas Oliverio Hudak.
He was a devoted Christian and member of The Bible Chapel in McMurray.
Louie was a graduate of Chartiers High School. He served in Vietnam with the 630th Transportation Unit.
Louie was employed at McGraw Edison in Canonsburg and Ametek in Eighty-Four.
Following in his father’s footsteps, he courageously served as a fire fighter for 52 years for the Houston Volunteer Fire Department and volunteered his time and talents to the Houston Pumpkin Festival for many years.
In his free time, he and his wife loved ballroom dancing with friends.
On October 22, 1966, he married Evelyn Faye “Dolly” Schott, who survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Jason (wife Annette Oliverio) of Greenback; his sister, Judy (Wayne) Urbanic of Houston; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Louie was a kind and loving husband, father, cousin, uncle and friend and will be missed by those who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, November 24, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. A gathering in Al’s Cafe Banquet Room in Bethel Park will follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Houston Volunteer Fire Department.
