Washington County man dies after being pepper sprayed

A Washington County man died Saturday afternoon after a neighbor sprayed him with pepper spray, the Washington County Coroner’s Office said.

Harry G. Doleno, 69, of Canonsburg, got into a verbal altercation with a neighbor near 7 Seward Ave., Union Township, at about 12:40 p.m. Saturday, and was pepper sprayed during the incident.

According to a press release issued by the coroner’s office, Doleno walked away from the altercation but was found unresponsive on his Union Township property shortly after.

He was declared dead at the scene, also home to A. Doleno Sewer and Plumbing, at 2:45 p.m.

The cause of death is pending autopsy.

The Monongahela Police Department is investigating Doleno’s death.
