Man formally arraigned in wife’s death
A North Strabane man accused of fatally shooting his wife at their home was formally arraigned Thursday.
Scott Alan Edmonds, 50, of 117 Victoria Drive, appeared before Washington County Judge Valarie Costanzo.
Edmonds is accused of shooting his wife, Louise M. Weis-Edmonds, 49, in March. Her body was found in the kitchen of their condominium.
Washington County Coroner Tim Warco testified that Weis-Edmonds died of a gunshot wound to the back of her head. He said it appeared the gun had been fired at close range.
The district attorney’s office is not seeking the death penalty in the case. Edmonds faces homicide and tampering with evidence charges. He remains in Washington County jail without bond.
