W.Va. teen convicted in slaying moving to prison

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) – A Monongalia County teenager convicted in the slaying of another teen is being transferred to an adult prison.
Media outlets report that 17-year-old Rachel Shoaf waived her right to a hearing on her incarceration status. Shoaf will turn 18 on June 10.
Monongalia County Circuit Court Judge Russell Clawges ruled Wednesday that Shoaf will serve her 30-year sentence in an adult prison.
Shoaf pleaded guilty in May 2013 to second-degree murder.
Prosecutors say Shoaf and 18-year-old co-defendant Shelia Eddy lured 16-year-old Skylar Neese from her home and stabbed her to death in 2012. Neese’s body was found in Greene County, Pennsylvania.
Eddy pleaded guilty in January to first-degree murder. She’s serving a life sentence at the Lakin Correctional Center and will be eligible for parole after 15 years.
