GREENSBURG (AP) – Prosecutors say text messages indicate a western Pennsylvania man and his wife were arguing before the woman was strangled and her body dumped two years ago.

Forty-three-year-old David Stahl of Hempfield is charged with first-degree murder in the February 2012 death of 37-year-old Derry Area schoolteacher Rebecca Stahl.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that text messages read to jurors Thursday indicate that the victim complained to her husband, who was out in bars, that he was no longer interested in her and blamed her for their inability to have children.

Hours before the murder, prosecutors said, she sent a text saying “Don’t bother walking in here. When you do come for your things, don’t be nasty.”

Officials say closing arguments in the case could be made Friday.
