Miss Firecracker Pageant part of July 4 celebration
WAYNESBURG – The Little Miss Firecracker Pageant, sponsored by Waynesburg Lions Club and the Waynesburg Sewing Center, will be held Friday at 8:30 p.m. during the club’s annual Fourth of July celebration at the Greene County Fairgrounds.
The pageant will take place on the main stage in front of the grandstand.
It is a noncompetitive pageant for girls ages 5 to 8. The participants will appear in patriotic attire and each will be interviewed on stage.
The contestants for 2014 are:
• Chloe Marie Lawson, daughter of Charles and Samantha Lawson of Waynesburg.
• Emma Mae Lawson, daughter of Charles and Samantha Lawson of Waynesburg.
• Sophina Marie Mauté, daughter of Roger and Kellie-Ann Maute’ of Waynesburg.
• Eva Ann Pester, daughter of Alex and Debbie Pester of Sycamore.
• MacKayla Grace Rahuba, daughter of Michael and Dannelle Rahuba of Waynesburg.
Little Miss Firecracker is determined by each contestant drawing a wrapped flower from a basket. The off-colored flower decides who the new queen will be for 2014. The winner will receive a crown, sash, trophy and bouquet. Each of the contestants will receive a participation medal.
The reigning Little Miss Firecracker, Reese Madeline Ramey, daughter of Cody and Debbie Ramey of Waynesburg, will crown the new queen.
