Monongahela police are reminding residents of New Eagle to keep their vehicles locked after a rash of thefts Sunday night.

Police Chief Brian Tempest said most of the thefts were reported at the Eagle Point trailer park and on New Eagle hill. Two vehicles also were found by police with keys either in the ignition or on the console.

“That leads us to believe it may be juveniles,” Tempest said. “Most of what was taken was small amounts of change.”

Tempest said it appears all the vehicles in which the thefts occurred were left unlocked.
