McGuffey High School to graduate 150
McGuffey High School will graduate 150 seniors at its commencement exercises at 7 p.m. Friday.
Speakers will be honor graduates Darrell Briggs, Natalie Cerciello and Amy Russell. The topic will be “The Next Big Thing.”
Briggs is a son of Darrell and Jill Briggs.
He received the Buckholt Science Scholarship, Clyde J. Tracanna Scholarship and the Ohio STEM Scholarship. He achieved high honor roll throughout his high school career and was Spanish Student of the Year for two years. His activities included National Honor Society, math team, Spanish National Honor Society and track. Briggs also volunteers at 4-H and as a Sunday school teacher. He will attend Muskingum University to major in petroleum geology and will compete in track and field.
Cerciello is a daughter of Kip and Sandy Cerciello.
She received the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award. She was a 2013 McGuffey drum major and Zonta Club of Washington County 2013 Amelia Earhart honoree. She achieved high honor roll throughout her high school career. Her activities included marching band, concert band, National Honor Society, student council and Teen Action. Cerciello also served as president of French National Honor Society, French Club and math team secretary. She also volunteered at a kennel.
Cerciello will attend the University of Mount Union to major in biology and plans to pursue graduate school.
Russell is a daughter of Ron and Donna Russell.
She received the Rotary Academic Achievement Scholarship, Ryan Johnston & Vaughn Johnston Scholarship, David & Sara Johnson Family Education Scholarship, Constance T. Rockwell Scholarship, Washington Financial Bank Scholarship and the Western Michigan University Presidential Gold Scholarship. She served as president of National Honor Society, senior class treasurer and was a member of student council and the French National Honor Society. She also danced at the Synergy School of Artistic Dance by Roz.
She will attend Western Michigan University to major in dance.
