WEST SUNBURY (AP)- A former Western Pennsylvania high school teacher has been sentenced to up to six months in prison and six years of probation for molesting five girls.

The Butler Eagle reports that 27-year-old Jonathan Crum pleaded guilty to five counts of corruption of minors for girls he victimized between 2009 and 2013.

Butler County Judge William Shaffer on Wednesday sentenced Crum to serve 90 to 180 days in prison. After release Crum will spend a year on house arrest with electronic monitoring followed by 72 months of probation.

Crum apologized for his actions.

Prosecutors say Crum, who taught 11th-grade English, victimized the students in different ways, from exchanging explicit photographs on cellphones to sexual acts.
